POV: Zac
It had only been a day since I laid out my plan to the others, but it felt as if a week had passed. BECAUSE IT HAD!!! This place was so confusing. The days on this planet were as long as a week on Earth. Not only that, but the castle time went by what they referred to as the Ruler Calendar. So to keep everything uniform, time was held in line with the days and seasons on the Ruler Planet. There were 48 hours in each day and about 450 days in a year.
So, according to this place, I was barely fuck’ in 10!!!! Though that did seem to explain a lot. Omega rarely, if ever, liked me going off by myself and treated me like a damn toddler. It was because, in her eyes, I was one. I also thought the time frame of 2 years she had set to be far too short; now, those two years seemed closer to 5 from my point of view. That was plenty of time for me to work. That was just one of the many things that I needed to learn about this new world. At the moment, I was able to get most of my questions answered by Lynoe.
She was the only one who seemed to have the patience for me. Quinn and Winnie were busy making whatever nightmare of a schedule they had planned for me. Lynoe and I lodged in the living room while I asked her all the questions I wanted.
"You know you can just ask Devin all these questions."
"Yeah, I know. But Devin isn't great with nuance. He'll give me info like reading directly from a book, and I need someone to give me what I need to know." I said to Lynoe. Her wording sounded like she was getting tired of this, but she didn't seem annoyed on the surface.
"I get it. Ask away." She smiled at me.
"Alright, so are there age restrictions on things here?" Now that I found out I was only 10l, I wanted to see just how limited I was as a child in this place. To my surprise, Lynoe began to laugh at me,
"Don't think too hard on that; most races are considered autonomous by 8 Ruler Years.."
"Autonomous?" I inquired.
"Ah… um. Considered to have the wherewithal to make decisions concerning their lives on their own." Lynoe responded, and then I immediately began to do the math in my head about how old that was from my understanding.
"About 20 years by Earth standards, Zac," Lynoe said as she saw the struggle in my eyes. I cleared my throat as I was annoyed. I was almost there; I didn't need her to tell me! Still, I nodded my head. It seems like they were a little more strict here than on Earth. At least in this aspect.
"So Autonomous are considered adults then?"
"As far as the law is concerned, sure. As far as the Races themselves, each one has its standards, but for the most part, no, not really." Lynoe answered again. I was sure I would not have gotten that response from Devin; he didn't have a feel for interpersonal stuff. Well, as long as I wouldn't have to change much of my old life, it didn't matter how old I was perceived to be here.
There were other questions that I wanted to ask about this place, but I figured that all of those would be answered when they began to teach me stuff. What was really on my mind is what took those Galdents so long to find me? It shouldn't be taking that long for them to find their way here, especially now that I understood how days worked here. They either didn't give a shit about those guys I killed, they got their hands on Aonani, and she took the fall for me.
I highly doubt Nani would do that. I'm a handsome bastard, but I'm not that good looking, and that woman didn't seem the type. I sighed as there was no point in thinking too hard about it. That just meant I had more time to get my shit in order. Turning my attention back to Lynoe,
"So, how long is it going to take them to finish construction?"
"They should be done in 12 hours. After you rest, we'll be starting your education." Lynoe responded with a smile on her face. I just shook my head. They decided that the ample space provided in front of our home would be converted into a training facility. It seems they were serious about getting me into whatever shape they wanted me to be in. I rolled my eyes, and as I was about to comment, Lynoe cut me off.
"I have some questions, Zac."
"Questions? What could I possibly know that could interest you?" I grinned.
"I've been paying attention, Zac. I've noticed some things." Uh oh. What exactly was she talking about?
"First, you've been taking all of this rather well, considering where you came from. I'm sure most people would like to think they could handle this just as well, but the reality is far different from the imagination." Tsk, I didn't like where this was going.
"Also, Tu-Tu said that your physical condition showed that you're a trained fighter; you just seem out of practice. She didn't say that whatever training you'd undergone was inadequate. And Tuwinnie is very exact with her words and sets a high standard."
"Well, aren't you a good listener?" I said, annoyed. She was picking apart every little detail and seemed to be painting a rather elaborate story. Until this moment, I always thought that she was the easiest going of the three; I would have to re-evaluate my opinion of them.
"Imagine…" She replied sarcastically to my snarky remark. Flipping her hair over her shoulder. She leaned back on the couch with a cocky grin on her face and continued,
"Also, when you killed those 4, you said something interesting. You weren't disgusted by the fact you had just killed someone; you were disgusted that you felt nothing. Almost as if you already knew how killing someone felt. Not only that, but you had also recovered from killing four people before we even made it back home."
"What's your question, Lynoe?" I asked, hearing the irritation in my voice. Lynoe looked at me with narrowed eyes. It felt as if she was staring into my very being, uncovering every secret I had.
"That wasn't the first time you've killed, is it Zac? you've killed quite a bit, haven't you?"
Shit…
